Mary Kom’s Dream Broken With Loss in Semi-Finals

6-time world champion India’s star boxer Mary Kom lost in the semi-finals of the World Women’s Boxing Championship being played here. With this, Mary Kom’s record of becoming world champion for the 7th time was broken and she had to be content with the bronze medal. However, after this defeat, India has lodged an appeal against the decision of the match referee.

In the semifinals of the 51 kg weight category of the championship, Mary Kom competed with Turkey’s Busenanj Karikoglu. But they lost in the semi-finals. However, in the 51 kg weight category, she managed to win a bronze medal.

It is worth noting that Mary Kom has won the London Olympic Bronze medal in 2012, 5 Asian titles, Asian and Commonwealth Games in the 51 kg weight category. This year he also achieved golden success at the India Open in Guwahati and the President’s Open in Indonesia. He is also a Rajya Sabha member.
